UNIQLO vs GU

If you are asked the most popular clothing store in Japan, I think many people will answer "UNIQLO" or "GU". You may go these stores when you want simple clothes or fashion article. Both stores have many good points. Then which is better? I know it depends on a personal preference, but I will compare the both stores for three points price, quality, and design and judge which store is better.

When we buy clothes, price is one of important points. You may be happy if your favorite clothes are cheaper than you expected. When we compare UNIQLO and GU for price, GU is better. I take a knit for examle. If you buy a knit in UNIQLO, you will pay 2000 to 5000 yen for it. But in GU, you can buy it for only 500 to 2000 yen. GU's is much cheaper than UNIQLO's!

Then how about the quality? Clothes in GU are good price, but the quality is worse than UNIQLO. So UNIQLO is the winner in this point. GU' clothes are used cheap materials to lower the price. UNIQLO's clothes are made from good materials and the composition is tough. In addition, UNIQLO do the strict tests for the durebility. This is the reason you can get high-quality clothes in UNIQLO.

The point of the design, which is the winner? I think UNIQLO will be the winner. One of the reasons is what UNIQLO collaborate with many designers, characters, and corporates. So there are various designs. Of couse there are simple clothes, too. Compared with UNIQLO, the number of designs is not so many in GU. But its designs are fashionable.

So, which is better UNIQLO or GU? I think there are many ideas about it. But I like UNIQLO better than GU because of its quality and design.
